I’m just one person, you know
Do you ever get the feeling that there’s just not enough of you to go around? Sometimes, I just feel that there’s so much to experience and learn, so many interesting people to talk to, and so many things I should have read or seen, that it just overwhelms me. In a way, it’s a good feeling, because all these things are what I consider meaningful, and I’m grateful that I have the opportunity to explore them all. However, I sometimes feel like my life is a big juggling exercise, barely managing to catch one ball safely before another comes tumbling down. In my opinion, there’s not much point in doing many of the things that you like if you don’t have time to take a breath once in a while and actually enjoy the feeling of doing what you enjoy.
Basically, I’ll be trying to give myself a bit more breathing space for the next months, and that also includes this site. Although I love doing things on the computer and I really want to develop my skills on this area, I currently have problems keeping up with the pace of the internet. This means that I won’t be updating my site or commenting on other sites as much as I’d like for a while, but that will probably change in due course.
As for now, I would like to encourage those of you reading this to take a step back and examine your own life, try to really figure out what’s important to you. If you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed, perhaps you should take a look at your priorities and think about whether the things that you do are all worth it. I know that sometimes it’s hard to realize that you can’t do everything, but in my opinion it’s a necessary part of life. I’ll leave you with some wise words on the subject:
So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. - Matthew 6:34
