A very special egg
I was in Oslo this weekend for an event, it was great fun, and I also got to experience the city from a slightly new perspective. You see, one of the things we did during the weekend was to have this competition where we had to solve different tasks. One of them was to sell an egg to some person we met on the street. Now, try to guess how much you could get for a normal egg on the street. One of our groups sold it for 303 Kr (about 37 Euro or 50 USD), which I find quite amazing. This was done by selling the egg several times in pubs and other public places, and at one point the group actually got up on a stage and sang for the whole audience. Oddly enough, nobody seemed to actually want the egg afterwards, despite paying for it.
Our group didn’t get that much money, we sold the egg to a french couple with our signatures on it. I believe we could have done better, I proposed telling some tourist that it was a special egg from the Norwegian mountain chicken which produces eggs that boosts your immune system because of the harsh climate in the mountains. I eventually felt sorry for the tourist and decided we should try selling it the nice way.
In my opinion, everyone who claims that the youth today are unimaginative or lazy should try selling an egg on the street, keeping in mind that a group of teenagers made about 500 Kr (63 Euro, 83 USD) in total in about an hour by just selling raw eggs. One thing is certain, the future of egg business in Norway is saved.
