A new chapter

Sep 10

Finally, after two weeks of Internet blackout, I now have a working access in my own room at the new school, which makes me feel so much more at home here. You see, things have changed quite a bit lately. I’ve just moved from home for the first time, and started a new school year at what’s called a “Folkehøyskole” (People’s high school). Basically, a Folkehøyskole is a boarding school where you learn about subjects that you have chosen yourself, in addition to being a place that tries to further the personal development of the students.

Usually, every change brings about some good and some not so good things, and this is true for me as well. Living here is great fun; the weather is better where I am now, I don’t have to make my own food, the people are nice, and I can practice violin without thinking about angry neighbors. On the other hand, it feels a bit weird being here, away from all my old friends and the place where I have lived my entire life, and I’m not sure if I’ve really understood that I’m going to be here for a year. Still, I’m already making great plans for all the things I hope to achieve while I’m here, and I’m looking forward to all the exiting things that I’m sure I’ll experience. I have some hope that during this year I’ll have a bit more time to do what I want, which hopefully includes making some improvements to this site, but right now it’s just been very busy with getting settled and all. Finally, I want to wish those of you that have also moved or started a new school good luck with your plans and your future, whatever it may look like.
